Alaska Rivers Company Positions Available

Please note that all employees will be expected to work all positions at sometime throughout the season.  This allows us to work with flexible work/days off schedule, which benefits everyone who works at ARC!

House Keeper/Guide 

Suitable for all, esp. for high school students and those interested in training to be a guide.

If Guiding then:

  • At least 18 years of age or older required by Alaska State Parks
  • Obtain a valid Basic 1st Aid Certification with an expatriation date (training provided at ARC)
  • A current driver’s license or picture ID

Kitchen Galley Manager/Guide

Food prep/restaurant experience helpful.

If Guiding then:

  • At least 18 years of age or older required by Alaska State Parks
  • Obtain a valid Basic 1st Aid Certification with an expatriation date (training provided at ARC)
  • A current driver’s license or picture ID

Scenic Rafting Guide

  • At least 18 years of age or older required by Alaska State Parks
  • Obtain a valid Basic 1st Aid Certification with an expatriation date (training provided at ARC)
  • A current driver’s license or picture ID

Canyon Rafting Guide

  • At least 18 years of age or older required by Alaska State Parks
  • Obtain a valid Basic 1st Aid Certification with an expatriation date (training provided at ARC)
  • A current driver’s license or picture ID
  • A valid US Coast Guard Commercial 6 passenger license required of all motorboat operators.  Non-motorized operators are not required to obtain a 6 passenger license.
  • US Coast Guard Licensing 907-271-6736
  • Kenai River Guides who hold and are operating with a Coast Guard license are required to provide proof of their enrollment in a random drug testing program approved by the US Coast Guard.
  • *A current TWIC card - Guides who posses and are actively using their US Coast Guard 6 passenger license must obtain a TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).  For more information please visit www.twicinformation.com or call 866-347-8942.

Fishing Guide

  • At least 18 years of age or older required by Alaska State Parks
  •  Obtain a valid Basic 1st Aid Certification with an expatriation date (training provided at ARC)
  • A current driver’s license or picture ID
  • Obtain an Alaska State Parks Commercial Use Permit by attending the Kenai River Guide class offered by Alaska State Parks. For more information please visit www.krga.org (Contact ARC for more information and assistance on registering)
  • A valid US Coast Guard Commercial 6 passenger license required of all motorboat operators.  Non-motorized operators are not required to obtain a 6 passenger license. US Coast Guard Licensing 907-271-6736.  Acquiring this license takes several months, so do not delay in contacting them!
  • Kenai River Guides who hold and are operating with a Coast Guard license are required to provide proof of their enrollment in a random drug testing program approved by the US Coast Guard.
  • Guides who posses and are actively using their US Coast Guard 6 passenger license must obtain a TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).  For more information please visit www.twicinformation.com or call 866-347-8942.
  • Current Kenai River fishing guides must successfully complete the Kenai River Guide Academy training course approved by Alaska State Parks.  For more information please visit www.krga.org
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening required for Kenai River fishing guides.
  • Obtain a valid Alaska Sport Fishing license required for Kenai River fishing guides.  License can be purchased on-line at www.state.ak.us
  • Kenai River fishing guides must obtain an Alaska Department of Fish & Game guide license for the 2009 year.  License can be purchased on-line at:
  • http://www.sf.adfg.state.ak.us/statewide/Guides/guides/cfm.
  • Kenai River fishing guides may not have been convicted of a felony with in the past 5 years and may not have been convicted of more than 1 misdemeanor violation of provision 5 (Fish & Game regulation) with in the past 5 years
